Muskoka’s Local Lawn Care Company

Mosquito Spray Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it last?

In our Muskoka climate, 3 applications 45 days apart will provide you with a full season of mosquito protection.

How long until I can use my yard after a mosquito application?

We require all people and pets be inside during application. Our synthetic spray is dry within 30 minutes. Once dry, it is safe for you and your 4-legged friends to enjoy your yard.

Do I need to be home for the mosquito spray application?

No, you do not have to be home for us to do a mosquito spray application. We will send you a reminder email the day before we spray.

How will I know if you came?

Upon arrival, the technician will knock on the door to let you know they have arrived. Once the mosquito spray is complete, we will leave a door hanger on your front door alerting you to the time of our application. A warning sign will also be left on your lawn alerting you of the date and time of the application.

Where do you spray?

Your mosquito technician will start with a walk around your property, dumping out any standing water and noting any sensitive areas on the property. We target locations where those pesky mosquitoes like to hide such as plants, foliage and shady areas where mosquitoes may rest.

What do you spray?

We use a product recently certified for use in mosquito control called Suspend Polyzone. It features the active ingredient deltamethrin in a unique formulation that features proprietary formulation. More information on Suspend PolyZone.

We also offer an all-natural garlic-based spray on its own or in combination with our synthetic spray (we use the natural spray on flowering plants and vegetable gardens at all applications).

What about the bees & the butterflies?

When applied correctly by a licensed technician, there is a low risk of harming non-targeted animals using our synthetic product. We are only targeting mosquito habitats. We do not spray synthetic product on any flowering plants (bee & butterfly habitats). Our synthetic product provides the best defence against mosquitoes, however we do offer an all-natural garlic-based option as well.

Does it only work on mosquitoes?

No. Actually, the standard barrier spray treatment is effective on other pests including fleas, ticks and spiders.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes, although a mosquito control service can never insure 100% elimination of every mosquito, we stand behind our service. If you are not satisfied with the results after receiving your application within the first 21 days, we will come to re-treat your property at no expense. If for any reason you are still not satisfied, we will refund your remaining applications.
